We want the conversation to include the ordinary realities of cattle keeping: secure fences, reliable water, suitable feed, compatible cattle company, veterinary support, and a routine you can maintain. Those details matter just as much as appearance or a favorite name.
Good information should be specific and current. We keep availability, records, and any proposed purchasing arrangements tied to the individual inquiry. Only checked animal profiles will appear in the live catalog; editorial images should never stand in for identification of an animal.

Mini Cow Hub is a small family farm running cattle on private pasture just outside Leadville, Colorado – the highest incorporated town in the United States. Winters run long, the grass grows short and fragrant, and cattle here earn their hardiness honestly. That is precisely why miniature Highland cattle fit this land: dense double coats, efficient foraging on modest ground, steady heads, and a frame small and level enough to be handled by an ordinary person – including kids and first-time owners.
We run a closed herd of miniature Highlands plus a small group of Highpark-cross cattle. Every calf is bred, born, and raised within a mile of the barn. No sale barns. No middlemen. Whatever you read on an animal profile comes from the people who were there the day it was born.

Vaccination protocol
Core 7-way clostridial (CD&T) and intranasal respiratory protection given as a primary dose plus a four-week booster, timed to each calf’s age, then boosted annually. Every date is written into the animal’s profile and records.

Deworming & fecals
Rotating pour-on deworming with periodic fecal egg counts. We share the lab results even when they are boring – boring is what we want.

Pre-sale vet exam
A licensed large-animal vet examines every animal before sale, and a Coggins test is run within 30 days of any transport. A copy travels with the animal.

Real measurements
Height at the withers is recorded at every halter session, so the numbers on a profile are the numbers off the ground – not marketing copy.
How we raise them.
Calm, a little shy, reserved with strangers – that is honest Highland personality, and we work with it instead of hiding it. Each calf is weaned on schedule, halter broke slowly over a few weeks, loaded and unloaded from a trailer without panic, and groomed by hand until a brush is the most boring thing that happens to them. Expect your animal to arrive already knowing its name, a halter, and a lead line. Cattle that behave at our place behave at yours – that is the whole point.
Honest about availability.
Listings are reviewed continuously, and a good animal can be confirmed to someone else while you are still thinking – that is what our holding-deposit system exists for (see the Refund & Deposit Policy). Nothing is reserved, sold, or charged until we confirm to you in writing from [email protected]. Visit us. Video-call to see an animal walk. Ask for more photos or the vet paperwork. Serious buyers always do; we like them for it.
